Enter the requested information into fields below, print this page and attach
to the front of your grant application packet (packet
checklist). Deadlines for applications for grants are May 1 and
November 1. Provide SEVEN copies of all your
grant material!
Please include the following information with your grant application:
- A summary (five pages maximum) describing:
- The project,
- The need for it,
- Who will carry it out,
- A time frame for completion,
- A plan for evaluating and funding it in the future.
- A line item budget, by category, showing how grant funds will be spent
including any funds available from other sources (group expenses in logical
categories). If the project is ongoing, provide the past source of income
and previous budget.
- Geographic area that you serve. (Grant funds are for Iowa animals only.)
- A copy of your most recent audit or financial statement
specifically as it pertains to your animal welfare goals.
- A current, project-specific letter of support from your community (e.g., local law enforcement,
veterinarian, shelter director, etc.).
- A current list of Board members.
- A current copy of your license from the Iowa Dept. of Agriculture and
Land Stewardship.
- Please be sure to provide the EIN and 501c3 letter date as requested
on the application form.

We appreciate you taking the time to make your grant proposals look professional but it is not necessary to do anything more than staple the proposals. Plastic binders, cardboard folders, etc. are not needed.
